Corsicana ISD Superintendent Stephanie Howell and Corsicana High School Assistant Principal Traycie Griggs

Corsicana ISD Superintendent Stephanie Howell presented the district’s first "Dare to be Different" (#DBD) Awards of the school year during Monday’s Board of Trustees meeting, honoring three administrators for exceptional leadership and community service.

The #DBD Awards recognize individuals who consistently go above and beyond for the Corsicana ISD family.

Corsicana High School Assistant Principal Traycie Griggs earned an award for directing the district's annual homecoming parade for the past two years.

"Thank you for spearheading our homecoming parade," Howell told Griggs during the presentation. "Your hard work and leadership have brought our students, staff, families, and community together to celebrate our school spirit. We appreciate the time, energy, and heart you've put into making this tradition so special."

Howell also recognized Brian Farmer, Director of Operations and Student Services, alongside J.P. Johnson, Director of Student Services and College, Career, and Military Readiness. The duo partnered with the Corsicana ISD Athletic Boosters to organize and execute the district's inaugural alumni golf tournament.

"Your teamwork, time, and dedication helped bring alumni together to reconnect and celebrate their school pride," Howell said. "We appreciate your efforts to launch this new tradition and strengthen the connection between our schools and community."
